Kylie's letters: Staying Cool!

Hello everyone! It's Kylie, guest-posting on Ivy's awesome blog. :) Guest-posting is fun, I think. I don't know how the weather is at your houses, but here, it's hot! Although it's only in the 90's right now, you never know when it's going to get warmer. The girls have been complaining about the heat, so I thought it would be appropriate to do a 'staying cool in summer' sort of post. So...here I am posting about it!

My first tip: wear cool clothing! Now, I'm not saying that you should wear cool as in awesome clothing, although that's great! I AM saying that you should wear light stuff like tee shirts. Maybe even a swimsuit! That's what I'm wearing in this pic. Yup. My swimsuit.

The next thing that's great to do on a hot day is tie your hair up. As you can see, I used a ribbon to keep my curls off my neck. It's actually pretty useless to try to do anything fancy with it, so a ribbon is nice. Ponytail holders just get lost in my hair. Believe me, we've tried!

My last great tip is stay inside and watch a lovely movie. This is my favorite way to spend an afternoon! Here, I am about to watch Singin' in the Rain. It's a great movie, actually. Have any of you seen it? It's one of those classics, I think.

Last pic! The movie isn't 'Singin' in the Rain', though. I'm watching the Rocketeer in this pic. I actually have this funny pic of Spicemuffin watching this film, but she won't let me post it. LOL!
Anyway, have fun girls, and STAY COOL! :D

Arizona's Zone: Why not? FINAL PART!

Read Part 14 HERE

Terrified, I struggled to get away. But the man's grip was too strong. To my relief, I noted Willow had gotten away. I wrinkled my nose. The man reeked of alcohol. 'Keep running, Willow' I thought to myself.

I shrunk back as the man raised his hand to strike me, but I heard the shrill yell of a small girl. Willow? I twisted my head around to find a familiar girl with her windswept brown hair. "Hey mister! Don't you want to catch me?" She taunted.

"What in the world?" I whispered. What was she thinking?! She could get into a ton of trouble! But then, four police officers sprung the man from behind. I wrenched myself away as quick as possible, and ran over to Willow's side.

"You were distracting him!" I grinned, relieved. She was much braver than anyone would have thought. She nodded with a cocky smile. "Of course! The policemen were just going to try to spring that guy, but I knew they couldn't really. My kidnapper would just use his gun to hold you hostage!

"So, I decided on my own to make a distraction. The cops caught on!" She jumped excitedly. "Aren't you proud of me?"
I grinned and hugged her. "Very proud."

Once the police headed home, we returned to the Academy. Natalie, Grace, Ivy, Joy, and I all sat on the lawn with Willow, and had a celebration snack. To our surprise, we spotted Ms. Jordyn approaching.

I dreaded to think what she was going to say. Would she make Willow leave the campus? The headmistress seated herself on the lawn by us. This was highly unusual. What was she going to say?

"I've been considering your words, Arizona Kali," She began. "They were spoken in bravery in defense of a right cause. I think I was in the wrong to deny her. Although I cannot change the rules, I can make a one gift for Willow, and pay her tuition."

I gasped. I couldn't think of a single thing to say. Ms. Jordyn continued. "Also, as well as paying her tuition, I'd like to adopt Willow."
"Really truly?" Willow squealed. The headmistress nodded, and Willow threw her arms around Ms. Jordyn's neck.

I hugged all my friends. Despite all my worrying, everything worked out perfectly.
I couldn't have asked for a happier ending.

Fitness Friday || Running + Stretching

It's Fitness Friday! For me, that means 'fun friday', but I understand that not everybody likes to exercise.  Not many people like to run, but I do! Liking to run doesn't make it easy, however. I started out walking, then jogging, and alternating the two. Gradually, it became fun!

Honestly. If I had a choice between sleeping in for an extra hour, or walking outside in the cheery sunshine, I would choose walking. Sun is so happy, how can you refuse? LOLOLolz. :)

You can't JUST run though. After you get some water, stretch it all out.

Did I mention stretching is also good for you? Yup, yup! It is. :)

Happy fitness friday! I'm going on a run this morning. Anyone wanna virtually join me? I mean, you don't have to run. You can just walk slowly if you like. :D
Anywho, I will see you guys later!

til the next time...

Movie Theater

Early one morning, I was talking to Jubilee on the old couch. "So, whatcha doin' today?" She asked very casually.
At this point, I jumped up and down. "Mama's taking me to see Star Trek Into Darkness!" I paused. "Do you want to come?"
She shrugged and shook her head. "Nah, I've got some baking to do this morning."

"Aw, come on!" I whined a bit. "It's Star Trek!"
"Yes, but you're a Trekkie and I'm not."
"It has that guy from Sherlock." Surely this would convince her. She loved that drama.
"Then I'll see it on DVD. I've got to bake some brownies for the picnic this week!"
I sighed. "Fine."
"Have fun!" She said to me.

I got to ride shotgun! Woo! I don't get to ride in the car very often, so when I do, I make the most of it. I watched every single plant woosh by the window until my eyes grew tired.

At which point, I sat down under the AC and let it cool the back of my head. Occasionally, I would bounce up a bit as the car hit a bump.

Eventually, we got to the theater. It was only 10 in the morning, so the parking lot was empty. The theater was so big! At least, it looked big to me. Spicemuffin says it isn't that big.
Although I didn't take pics inside, I had a blast. I was so excited when I heard the opening music!

When I got home, Jubi was reading a book on the couch. I knocked it out of her hands and told her about the movie. I think I talked for about five minutes before coming to my last gush.
"And then there was this awesome fight on those red platforms, and Kh--um, bad guy almost killed Spock! It was AMAZING!"
Jubi took a step back. "Well, it sounds cool..."

"Let's go see another movie?" I suggested. "We'll have to go to the local theater."
"Sure!" She replied. And at that, we grabbed our money and set out to see what there was to see. :)

Interrupted by a Cat

So, a couple afternoons ago, on a cloudy day, I decided to see if my neighbor was home. I walked down the path towards her home.

I thought about all the things we could do this afternoon. Gymnastics, computers, movies, etc!

I was just minding my own business, when suddenly, something giant and grey appeared out of the corner of my eye, and pushed me!

I stumbled forwards and spun around. There was a giant grey cat sprawled on the ground. That was a big cat. "Okay, mister," I said, "You just stay there."

I marched on over to the front door, and rang the doorbell. Nobody answered. I sighed. I wouldn't be playing with her today. I walked over to her swing and sat down. The cat jumped up beside me.

He stared at me for the longest time, flicking his tail back and forth. I was beginning to feel uncomfortable with this cat. "Stay there!" I ordered.

The cat, of course, didn't listen. He pounced on my boots, and started chewing them! Of all the horrid things to do!

"HEY!" I yelled. That startled the cat enough that he stopped eating my boots. I took the opportunity to scoot away and jump off the swing.

I ran over to the pine tree, and glared at the creature. It simply yawned and stretched out. I sighed. "Mister cat, you're something else!"

I stepped out from under the protection of the tree, and felt little raindrops on my arms. I looked up at the sky and had a raindrop fall on my nose. I blinked quickly and grinned.

"Well, I guess I'd better get inside then!" I laughed. A nice afternoon it was, despite being stalked by that crazy cat. ;)

Our Wish Lists!

After school today, Ari and I went on the American Girl website and looked around. They had so much cute stuff!
We decided to make wish lists for the fun of it, since we haven't posted in a long while. :)

My Wish List:
*Sweet Spring Dress>>
Oh my gooseness, I LOVE THIS DRESS! It is ~perfect~, with the rose.

*Butterfly Garden PJs>>
This pajama set is simply adorable! I think cropped pants are nice for sleeping in (as well as butterflies).

*Saige's Sparkle Dress>>
Wouldn't this be a perfect party dress? I'd like to hire whoever designed Saige's outfits as my dressmaker! The sparkles make me think of fireflies, and the boots complement the gold.

*Saige's Sweater Outfit>>
I want this one the MOST of all. I LOVE IT SO SO MUCH! The sweater's style is perfect, the leggings are adorable, and the sandals are chic. :)

ArIzOnA's WiSh LiSt:
Hallo peeps! Ari here. Boy, it's been awhile. Anyway, Ivy's poking at me to get on with my list, lol. Ivy, you are funny! Okay, I"ll continue now.

First on my list!

1. Saige's Sweater Outfit
>Yes, I also want this one. I think the colors and patterns on the sweater are perfect. Busy lines merge with soft simplicity. :)

2. Saige's Pajamas
>I think grey is a wonderful color, and a good staple in your closet. It fits so well with bright colors, like orange and pink. This set is so chic and modern and I love it. :D

3. Easy Breezy Outfit
>Easy breezy sums up this outfit! Loose shorts are great for spring and summer, and those sneakers look so awesome!

4. Weekend Fun Outfit
>This is a fun little outfit! The cropped jeans and floral top are so chic, and would be great for hanging out with friends.

5. Plaid Party Dress
>Plaid! I don't have anything in plaid, and this would be a fanTASTic addition to the closet! FanTASTic! Does anyone know Who says that? :) :) :)

Anywhoo, we'd better be going! See ya later! <3

Arizona's Photoshoot

These are some photos I took of Arizona. I'm quite proud of them! The setting sun cast the perfect light in our backyard.

I thought I'd never say this about Ari, but...isn't she adorable?

These two are my favorites...

Have a great day!

Easter Excitement

I am SO excited for Easter! It's just in three days! My oh my, it feels like FOREVER since we've been out of Spicemuffin's room. With all the activity, it's been hard to get around.

But when I saw these gorgeous azaleas, I knew I just HAD to get outside and look at them.

Don't you just adore the red frills? They're so decorative. It's like they're dressing up for Easter, putting their best dress on. :)

I hope we have games at Easter. Even if we don't, I hope we have an Easter themed sermon at Church. We don't go with Spicemuffin, but we listen to the recording at home. :)

Ah, it's so relaxing sitting among the flowers. If you could FEEL spring, this is what it would feel like--cool breeze, warm ground, and the silky petals of flowers brushing against your face.

To everyone, Easter means new life. For Christians, a reminder that Jesus is risen! The plants have certainly been given new life. Look at those ginormous rose trees! Woo!

Everything is just so GREEN!

I can't wait to see what's in store for us. :)
