Rahel Arrives

Well, it was one of those boring days. The other dolls were hanging out doing nothing, and the 9-inchers were having some 'private' group thing.
Arizona was miffed about being teased all the time. Everyone always says to her, "Ooooohh, look, there's the spy!" or "Spying on anyone Arizona?" Some neighbors even say {in the most sarcastic tone}, "Oh, you're a fantastic spy, Arizona."
Arizona gets so annoyed by that! Contrary to very popular belief, Arizona is more interested in frisbee, gardening, and {big shocker} is taking a modeling class! Fancy that!

Anyway, back to my story. Since no one wanted to do anything, I decided I would go outside for a walk.
I asked Nahji if she wanted to come. She refused. She missed her Indian friends, and was depressed that Rahel hadn't arrived yet.
So, out I went. All by my lonesome. It was overcast and gloomy. I wondered if anything interesting would ever happen!
Then, all of a sudden, I saw something! I blinked. Was I really seeing what I thought I was seeing?
There was a girl standing on our back lawn! She grinned at me. She wore the most colorful clothes! And I loved her bracelets. She was a small girl, about Nahji's size.
She was barefoot. I was shocked. Barefoot on the freezing stone? And a tee and sarong? This person did not know how to dress properly.
The girl waved. "Hi!" She yelled at me, disregarding the fact that I was standing a little under 5 feet away.
She skipped right up to me. A little too close for someone you don't happen to know. I felt uncomfortable, and blushed a bit.
Without a second of warning, she launched forwards, and threw her arms around my waist. "I'm home! Hello Ivy, how are you? It's cold here! I'm Rahel from Ethiopia, and I'm really excited to be here! Do you know how long it took me to get here? But I'm here now so I'm so excited, and now where are the others?"
She said this in about 5 seconds. Wowza. She talked fast.
I was happy that she was here. But...as she talked for the next 10 minutes {still hugging me all that time}, I was doubtful. She was very assuming, too talkative, and...nevermind. After this photo, she even pulled the white string off my braid, and tied it in her own hair!
She talked waay too fast, and hardly ever considered my opinion. I mean, she was adorable and sweet but...I wasn't too sure that we'd get along too well.
