Unexpected Pets

I would never have guessed I would have the two new pets I have now. And don't worry, I might still be getting my kitten, it's just not gonna be too soon. Now I'm going to tell the story of the pets I just got last night. :)

I was walking alone in the local park trail when something moving on the ground caught my eye. I leaned closer, staring at the bark on the ground.

Two lizards! Wow! They were SO cute. I nearly fell over on top of them! Afraid I would scare them, I stood frozen to the ground. They did not run away, but came closer to me! I crouched down, and held my hand to the ground. To my great surprise, they hopped right on!
I immediately took them home to show Mama.
She concluded that these lizards were escaped pets, since they were so friendly.
I smiled and stroked their tiny heads.
"Can I keep them?" I begged. "I'll take care of them with my own money, I'll be responsible, I'll---" Mama put her finger over my mouth. "I know you're responsible enough for a pet. I just don't know if you need another pet. After all, you do have Winter." I paused, and thought of my Schnauzer. "Winter never hurt anything, he will never hurt these two!" I argued. "Please?" I pleaded.
Mama smiled. She said yes!
Oh, I was so excited!
Immediately, I sat on the couch to think of lizzie names. I held up one of them.

It was a male, I could tell by his brilliant coloring. "Your name is Storm!" I decided firmly. Then I looked at the other lizard.

"You two must be brother and sister!" I thought. I decided to think of them as brother and sister even if they weren't. They did look alike. I looked at the little female. "I am going to call you Zephyr," I decided. I grinned. I was quite happy with my names.

I held up Storm and Zephyr, and shouted (a little too loudly), "Welcome to the Ling home!"
I love my new pets!

Car Drive

Sorry I haven't been posting! I've been worried about Threads Boutique. But the construction director promised that it would be put up again sometime.
So!
Today, we went on a car drive. A small road trip to visit a small place.
We got up early, ate breakfast, and rushed out the door!

Here I am in the car. I love to just sit next to the window and watch the scenery. It was a beautiful day to drive! There wasn't a single solitary cloud in the sky, and I could see for miles.

After a while, I tired of the window, and sat in front of the windshield. That was a nice view! I'm glad Mama let me sit in the front seat. I had AC control, ultimate view, and a huge captain chair to call my own.

All the cars seemed to be going one way. Look at that blue sky! See what I mean? I settled down once we got near our destination. I could tell because of their signature pine trees.
The weather was nice. It wasn't too hot, or too cold.
Here I am!

Blue and green! I love this picture. I love being outside! While Mama went off, I explored. I found a nice shady spot under a clump of short trees. Towards noon, it started to get hot. The longer I stayed in my shade spot, the more I didn't want to leave!

I stepped out a little bit, and jumped right back. It was hot! I certainly didn't want to get any sunburn. I hadn't put any sunscreen on when I left. So I stayed with my little tree in my little spot and waited for Mama.

I played around a bit. I pretended I was a pioneer. Then I pretended I had Winter with me, and that we were playing together! By and by, Mama found me, and took me back to the car. "Wait here, Ivy. I'm almost done!" She told me.

I fastened my seat belt and waited. After ten minutes, Mama didn't come, so I slipped out of my belt, and slid over to the driver's seat. It was great fun!

He he he! I'm a bit too short to drive. Actually, the steering wheel is much bigger and heavier than I am. I played around with the wheel before getting bored. Then, I spied the controls. Buttons and buttons!

I love buttons and spinners and controls. The temp control was fun. It clicks every time you move it. I spun it till it squeaked and clicked at the same time! The next one was fun too.

I found out that there are hundreds of different ways to position this vent! One thing I have to have in the car is air. I can't live without a fresh supply of air! I sighed. Mama still wasn't back. When was she going to be done?!

After pushing all the other buttons I could get my vinyl hands on, I collapsed on my back on my seat. I was tired. Hungry. Bored. Sigh. Mama!!
Then, she finally came back, a smile on her flushed face. "Okee, Ivy! Let's go." She clicked her seat belt. Yay!
A nice little trips. I love being out and about, don't you?

I am Short

And before I begin, what's with my pageviews? They've been going down, and I haven't been getting any new followers. What's with that? -sigh- Again, if you have any friends, please let them know about "Simply Ivy"!

And on with my short little entry.

It was Thursday afternoon, after I finished sweeping, and I was having a bit of fun with the passersby. I stood next to our heirloom tomato on our front porch, and yelled, "Tomato plant for picture background! Free posing, free pictures!" That's the gist of it.
One young adult stopped by, and took a picture of me in front of the plant. :)
Here's my picture of me...

Woah, what's with that? How does a tomato plant dwarf a mini person like me? I look so short. Actually, I am short. I guess mini people are supposed to be short, or else they wouldn't be called "mini"!
Then, I tried to take dominion over our Rose of Sharon. Of course the bees were very mad and chased me away!

I decided to take dominion over the pillar instead. I ruled over the pillar queenly and wisely for about five minutes before going inside. The shortest reign, ended by a very power-hungry bumblebee! Just kidding, he wasn't power-hungry. Mr. Bumblebee just liked the flowers on my tunic. XD

And that's it for today. Oh, and guess what? I made up to Mama for being sneaky ('member when Jubi and I watched Cars 2? By ourselves?), and she's going to take all the Rose Hollow Dolls/Mini People to watch Cars 2 in the theater! SO exciting! I can't wait to see if the other girls will like it. I hope so.

NOW I'm finally done rambling about...various things. :)

A rainy day

-sigh- Rainy days are so dreary. Well, Tuesday was a rainy day where we lived.

I was so sad and disappointed. I was going to go out on a 'safari', and it rains! So frustrated. I leaned heavily against the screen with a sigh. The rain fell softly on our patio, and trickled off the overflowing gutters on our roof. Maybe the sound was relaxing to some, but it made me want to cry.

Then Jubilee came and put her arms around me. For a couple short seconds, I ignored her presence, until she whispered, "Ivy."

I turned my head. "Ivy, you like to find beauty in small things. Won't you try to find joy in those same small things too?" She squeezed my hand, and I smiled, ever so slightly. "How is there joy in rain?" I asked, quickly wiping my smile off my face. Jubi grinned. "Look at the polka dot pattern it gives! It's very beautiful. Ivy, you fashionista, I know you love polka dots." I smiled, and unconsciously stroked my polka dot shirt.

I looked at the little dots on the cement. "And, right now, the plants are singing for joy because of the rain. Can't you hear them, Ivy?" I looked at the red lilies swaying in the breeze, and the lantanas vibrating. "Why, they are singing!" I said. Jubi smiled. "Just because we can't have fun outside doesn't mean we can't have fun inside!"

For the rest of the afternoon, we played with my activity book and stuffed dog. It was fun, I agree. And don't YOU agree that Jubi is the kindest and most thoughtful friend there ever was? Friends through thick and thin! :)

Flower Quest with Joy

Most of you know my sister, Joy. Her real name is Joyce Eloise, but nobody calls her that unless she's in trouble. :) She totally lives for gymnastics, and she's an awesome (most of the time) sister!
Here we are!

Isn't that a sweet picture? I think so. I especially think it's strange that Joy is so much taller than me although she's younger than me! No fair!
By the way, like my bag?

This is the first flower Joy spotted. It's a lovely yellow wildflower! However, it was in the foreclosed lot. We didn't dare to go there! We weren't sure if there were any tramps there.

This is the first flower I found. It's a pretty pink rose! A rose is one of my favorite flowers.

Joy and I both spotted these pretty lilies simultaneously!

Here's a closeup. Isn't that lily stunning?

Well, this flower IS very pretty, but the darn camera wouldn't focus. It was set on focusing on the flower in the middle. :(

When I finished staring gloomily at the camera, Joy pointed. "Look!" She exclaimed. "How pretty!" I rushed up and took a picture.

And then I posed! I have no idea what these are, but they're delicate pink flowers. They almost look like little tulips hanging from the stem. :D

Joy posed too! She's so funny. ;)

I got a new swimsuit!

Sorry for not posting in a dreadful long while! I've been having a great time! (aside from having to clean my room)
Since the weather is beginning to warm up, Mama made me a spanking new swimsuit from Beach Baby Doll's swimsuit pattern. I think we'll need to use a different pattern next time we make a swimsuit, though!

Here it is...

 Yay!  A nice burgundy swimsuit. I like how red looks on me.

 Here is the body of the swimsuit. As you can see, I didn't iron it yet.

 Yes, despite the fact that Mama followed the pattern carefully, it was hard to get on!! I pulled it so much that the stitches are beginning to show.

 The scoop neckline. :) I seriously don't know why this pic was taken, but I wanted to put it here anyway.

 I think this might become my new gymnastics outfit! Those things I'm holding are fabric rosettes.

I'm planning on sewing them on. :)

While I'm waiting...

Well, the concrete guys are still here!!! I wanted to take a picture outside with the new concrete, but I can't. :(
So here's today's story! While I'm waitin'.

 This morning, as soon as I woke up, I rushed to the sliding glass door.

There was the wire netting, all safe and secure. The netting is to make the concrete stronger. :)

Then the concrete truck arrived!

I tried to snap a pic of the guys wheelbarrowing their tools in, but they were too speedy!

Imagine my elation as they poured the first dump of concrete in! YAAAAAAY!

 More cement/concrete! Mwahahahaha! Erm. I mean I was getting so excited I started jumping up and down!

FINALLY! I finally got a photo of the guy pouring the cement out.
